Artist Statement
My work is characterized by its use of unconventional materials and techniques.
I work across the multidisciplines of painting, sculpture, drawing, analogue photography, and conceptually layered installations. I refuse to be compartmentalized. Whilst I use a variety of materials and processes, my methodology is consistent. My subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and forms of the artwork grouped around specific themes and meanings.
My aim as an artist is to create visually striking pieces that engage the audience in deeper philosophical questions about life, death, religion, and unconventional beauty.
My work challenges traditional approaches to art, provoking strong emotional responses and inviting the viewer to confront their own beliefs about preconceived notions and the meaning of art itself.
My passion for contemporary art is shaped by a critical lens on social justice, political, and cultural issues, whilst exploring the relationships between popular culture and fine art.
I believe that my artwork has the capacity to explore, evoke, and convey powerful ideas and concepts, and to challenge societal norms.
